Nigerian international forward Samuel Chukwueze stole the show of AC Milan in their 6-1 win over Serie B side Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Back in the starting lineup after dropping out for the league win over Empoli, the Nigerian wasted no time in making his mark with a brace within a space of eight minutes.
He opened scoring in the game in the 12th minute before doubling his tally for the game in the 20th minute with Milan proving to be too good for the visitors. They held a 4-0 lead into the half time break before sealing the game with two more goals in the second half.
Their reward for the impressive show will be a tie against the winner of the game between Sampdoria and AC Roma in the next round, but their main attention will on Friday’s game against Atalanta.
Atalanta have been one of the best teams in the Italian top division as they have gone nine games without tasting defeat and are currently second behind leaders Napoli, who hold a slim one point lead at the top.
Chukwueze will be hoping he has done enough to force his way into the plans of Paulo Fonseca with his brace today, hopefully get to start on his favorite position on the right.
