The disciplinary committee of the Confederation for African Football (CAF) has awarded the Super Eagles of Nigeria three points and three goals for the abandoned AFCON qualifiers game against Libya, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Super Eagles defeated Libya 1-0 in Uyo, but had to abandon the reverse game away after they were left unattended to for over 16 hours at the airport upon arrival without food and water. They also survived a plane crash when their flight was inexplicably diverted to another airport 300km away from the city of the game.

CAF suspended the game and subsequently referred it to their disciplinary committee, who were very quick in dispensing the judgement against Libya and also fined them $50,000. It was the main topic on all television stations in Libya.

During most of the programs , callers asked the government to arrest immigrant Nigerians who are in the country illegally, and also ensure that they pay a fine of $500 each plus taxes.

They said the money CAF demanded as a fine should be raised by Nigerians residing and working in the country illegally.

Below is how one of their leading online platform Libya News Today1 captured it on Facebook with a video of the television show, where callers made the suggestions.

“All Libyan TV Channels urging the government to arrest the Nigerian workers who work here in Libya for not having legal papers. They have to pay 500$ plus taxes.

” The fine that Libya accused of, will be paid by their citizens who live in Libya.

We subjected to injustice.

“The media also say “ we have no borders with Nigeria, what’s the benefit of them? They’re burden on Libyan people. They have to go back home.
