Nigeria international forward Moses Simon is having a whirlwind start to the season in France for Ligue 1 side Nantes picking up his ninth goal contribution in five games in their 1-1 draw against Angers, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Fifth placed Nantes pulled a huge coup last season by getting the 29 year old Nigerian to commit his future to the club, with his previous contract set to run out at the end of last season. He was heavily on the radar of top teams around Europe before his decision.
That decision is paying off with the level of his contribution to the team since the start of this season. A huge improvement on last season which was baldy interrupted by an ankle injury picked up while on international duty with Nigeria, forcing him to miss the final four months of the season.
Simon set up Johann Lepenant for his side’s opening goal of the game in the 18th minute. They were pegged back when Himad Abdelli levelled for the home side six minutes later.

His fine form makes him the club most prolific forward in front of goal since 2013, when they gained promotion back to the French top division. He currently has 29 assists for the club more than any player in the period mentioned.
