Former Nigeria U20 striker Tijjani Mohammed has become the first signing of the new coach of Plymouth Wayne Rooney after sealing a loan move to the English Championship side, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Tijani a member of the 2019 Nigeria U20 team to the world cup joins the he team from Czech Republic side Slavia Prague, the team he joined last season from fellow Czech Republic side Banik Ostrava.
Rooney succeeds Ian Foster, who was sacked on 1 April after a poor run of results. It is Rooney’s first role since he was sacked by Birmingham City on 2 January after a disappointing reign of less than three months in which he lost nine of 15 games.
He will be hoping for a better fortune this time around with the hope that Tijani who scored four goals with three assists in 33 games in all competitions will lead their charge for goals.
