Peseiro Reveals Three Major Reasons Why Super Eagles Lost AFCON Final To Côte d’Ivoire

Jose Peseiro has confirmed via a statement on his official social media handle that he has left his post as the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria following the expiration of his contract, OwnGoalNigeria.comreports.

As we first reported the coach who led the team to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations where they were beaten 0-1 by the host Cote d’Ivoire has an option of extending the deal, but an agreement on terms wasn’t reached.

The Portuguese in a statement confirmed his departure from the role he has occupied for the past one year and four months. He is expected to announce his next destination shortly.  Below is his statement.

Yesterday, we concluded our contract with the NFF. It was a pride and honor to coach the Super Eagles. It has been 22 months of immense dedication, sacrifice, emotion, and enormous enthusiasm. We feel a sense of fulfillment.
