The jersey numbers of players of the senior national team of Nigeria for the Africa Cup of Nations have been made public by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Ahead of their start of the tournament on the 13th of January, CAF posted the shirt number of every team that will be at the tournament and we noticed some minor changes in the squad numbers of Nigeria.
Most notable among them is Alex Iwobi who switched from the number 18 shirt he has been wearing the past few years to his preferred shirt number 17. The number that earned him the nickname BIG 17 while at Arsenal.
It will be the first time in nine years that he is wearing the number for the senior national team of Nigeria despite switching from 8, 10 and 18 in recent years.

Other AFCON debutants like Olorunleke Ojo, Stanley Nwabali, Raphael Onyedika, Calvin Bassey, Bruno Onyemaechi, Ademola Lookman Victor Boniface and Bright Osayi-Samuel will wear shirt number 16, 23, 25, 21, 13, 18, 24 and 12 respectively.
