Sweden’s top division side Mjällby AIF says Nigeria U23 defender Ejeh Isaiah has started trials at the club in a bid to get a deal at the team before the start of the new season, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
In a statement on their official website, the club said the 2021 Nigeria U20 captain will spend a month at the club, where he will take part in training and test games before a decision will be reached on signing him.
Last season, the 20 year old who made over 17 appearances in the top division of the Nigeria Professional Football League while at Kwara United was key in helping the club snatch a continental ticket at the end of the season.
He was rewarded with a call up to the U23 where he played a role in the win over Tanzania, that helped them qualify for the next round of the Olympics qualifiers. Coach Salisu Yusuf who also doubles as the head coach of the B team also handed a spot in the squad for the friendly game against Costa Rica.

Ejeh was on from start to finish in the game which ended 0-2 in favor of the South American team. His rise according to Mjällby is why they are having him around their facility for a month for proper assessment. He will immediately start playing test games.
“Ejeh is a centre-back we have had our eye on for a long time, we tried to get him here already last summer but unfortunately did not succeed then. Big, strong and fast player who has a good passing foot. We bring him here for a trial game to be able to see him in our training and matches, this allows us to evaluate him further before we make a decision about a transfer or not,” sports manager Hasse Larsson told the official website of the team.
