Legendary Italian striker Christian Vieri says Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen has what it takes to be the best striker in the world.
Osimhen has endured another injury hit season as he missed over three months when he suffered a facial injury towards the end of last year that requires surgery and largely the reason why he now plays with a face mask.
Despite the setback he has scored seven goals in the Serie A and four in the Europa League to bring his goal count to 11 in 23 games this season. A respectable tally base on the number of games he has played this season.
Vieri who is regarded as one of the best strikers to have played in the league and also the senior national team of Nigeria was a guest in the studio yesterday when Napoli took on AC Milan in a top of the table clash.
AC Milan won the game 1-0 with Osimhen firing blanks but Vieiri has seen enough to say that the Nigerian has a big forward ahead of him and in a year time he will be the best striker in the world if he works on certain areas in his game.
” Osimhen is really good, in a year he will be one of the strongest in the world. He needs to improve when he is at the limit of area, in the first shot, in the speed of execution … If he improves in this type of situation, he becomes one of the best “, he told DAZN.
