Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has decided to stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation for today’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers game against Cape Verde, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The coach tried out a 3-4-3 formation in training yesterday playing with wing backs but he has decided to stick with his preferred formation leading to him handing debut to Malmo midfielder Innocent Bonke and also Bologna midfielder Kingsley Michael, the duo will play as the midfield pivot with Ahmed Musa operating in the role behind the main striker Victor Osimhen.
Musa’s role is one he has showed he can operate in both at club and national team level. The duo of Moses Simon and Chidera Ejuke will play as right and left winger respectively. Maduka Okoye keeps his spot in goal with a back four of Shehu Abdullahi, Chidozie Awaziem, Kenneth Omeruo and Jamilu Collins in front of him.
