Players and officials of the senior national team of Nigeria were not able to use the gym of their camp at the prestigious Eko Hotel, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The players numbering 15 went to the gym to have their first session but no sooner have they started that the management of the hotel led by the general manager ordered them out.
He claimed the gym is meant for visitors and not exclusively for the team. A situation which snow balled into a heated exchange with players and officials of the Nigerian team.
Attempts by the security detail of the Super Eagles to convince the management to allow the players use the gym yielded no result as they ended up canceling what would have been their first session ahead of Friday’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia.
In order not to loose out on the session entirely, the team later had a light training at the beach with videos posted on their official social media handle.
