Former Nigeria U17, U20 and U23 midfielder Kingsley Michael celebrated his maiden call up to the senior national team of Nigeria with a strong showing for Bologna in their 0-0 draw against Atalanta.
Michael was handed a start in what was his second Serie A game since joining the team in 2017 and the 22 year old didn’t disappoint as he got over a nervy start to post a really good second half performance.
He was substituted in the 60th minute but did enough to justify the decision of the coach to hand him his debut even though he played as a defensive midfielder as opposed to his traditional role as a central midfielder.
Named on the standby list of the senior national team of Nigeria for their upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifiers. He will be eyeing a debut if the players based in England fail to get clearance to play away in Cape Verde.
