The coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has increased the number of players in his squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde respectively.
Rohr initially listed 25 players for both games but sent out invitation to 35 players with ten on standby , he has now increased the number of players in the squad to 30.
We gathered the idea is borne out of necessity as there are doubts surrounding the availability of five players in the list of players who are based in England with the UK protocol on coronavirus casting a cloud over their presence.
Five players in Oghenekaro Etebo, William Ekong , Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka will be forced to quarantine for ten days if they honour the away trip to Cape Verde as it is listed in the UK red zone.
Same fate might also affect the duo of Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo who are based in Scotland but for now their is no muck concern over them like the ones in England.
