Huesca midfielder Kelechi Nwakali is among foreign based players under consideration to be a part of the Super Eagles squad for the July 4th friendly game against Mexico, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.
Already coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr has confirmed that the game will be prosecuted by largely home base players with Austin Eguavoen to stand in as coach.
The Technical Director of the NFF is open to the idea of having some foreign based players in the team for the game that will be played in the USA and Nwakali is among the players he is considering.
Nwakali had a fulfilled second half of the season helping second division side Alcorcon beat the drop to the third division during a six months loan spell.
Meanwhile they are indications that captain of the Super Eagles Ahmed Musa who is on a short term deal with Nigeria Professional League side Kano Pillars won’t be available for the game.
Musa is expected to travel around same time to Europe as he bid to return back to where he believe he can get his career back on track after a failed stint in Saudi Arabia.
