Almeria have decided to lower their asking price for Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar who is a key target for La Liga side Sevilla this summer.
The release clause in the contract of the 24 years old is €60 million but following their inability to gain promotion to the LaLiga they have slashed it to €30 million. Some other sources claim it’s between €20-25 million.
Even at that he will still go into the record books as the most expensive sale in the history of Almeria who are open to the idea of cashing in on the Nigerian but at their own terms.
Sevilla are locked in talks with the camp of the lanky striker who has a personal relationship with the technical director of the Andalusian Monchi.
Monchi struck up a good relationship with the 22 goals striker during their time at Italian side Roma and was pivotal in his decision to leave on loan to further aid his development.
He sees the Nigerian as a player who can perfectly replaced Luuk De Jong who is expected to leave the team of the Europa League winners before the end of this summer transfer window.
Although Sevilla are also looking at Joselu, Sadiq is seen as a more realistic target with coach Julen Lopetugui also a keen admirer of the former Nigeria U23 forward.
