A cross section of players of the senior national team of Nigeria have reacted to the current contract stand off between coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr and the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) .
Rohr’s present deal with the NFF will expire in June and talks over an extension is yet to yield any breakthrough even though both parties have agreed to some clauses inserted in the extension which where not in the previous deal.
The coach confirmed he has made some adjustments to the draft sent to him by the NFF and signed the relevant areas and all that is left is for the football house to accept the amendments and sign their own part of the agreement.
That hasn’t been the case as Rohr has since two weeks ago done his own part. The delay hasn’t gone down well with players of the team who feel the coach is not been shown enough respect by the NFF despite all he has achieved.
Four of them spoke with Owngoalnigeria.com from their base in Europe and they said it has come to them as a surprise that in the middle of a qualifying campaign which they have started very well, the NFF is still foot dragging on a deal for the coach behind the progress.
