French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux have open the door for the potential exit of the two Nigerian players on their payroll as they bid to raise cash in light of the financial crisis the novel coronavirus has inflicted on their earnings.
The team is open to the idea of letting go of players who can raise them a significant amount in the transfer market hence won’t block the path of players like Josh Maja and Samuel Kalu who have both been linked with a move away in the summer.
For several months now players like Francois Kamano, Maxime Poundje and Youssouf Sabaly who have one year to go their deal have been told they can leave the club but the duo of Maja and Kalu have been added to the mix.
Kalu have been linked with a move to German side Hertha Berlin, a move that could have happened in January but Bordeaux insisted on a sum that the Bundesliga side couldn’t match while Maja who was once on the books of Sunderland has been linked with a return to England where a host of English Championship teams are interested in his service.
Both players are senior international for Nigeria with Maja having one cap to his name after making his debut for Nigeria against Ukraine in a 2-2 friendly draw last year. Only recently he said his international career is far from over as he believe he will still get a shot at the Super Eagles.
