Coach of Ligue 1 side Monaco Leonardo Jardim has challenged Nigeria international forward Henry Onyekuru to prove he deserve a spot in his team by working extra hard to win his spot back.
Onyekuru joined the team in the summer from Everton on the back of a successful loan spell in Turkey where he emerged champions with Galatasaray.
Upon his arrival, the Nigerian was given game time by Jardim but after a couple of poor performances he was dropped and has not played in any of their last three games and that has led to talks about a move away from the club on loan.
A return to Galatasaray has been mooted for the forward who scored 14 goals last season at the Turkish side but Jardim insist he has to work hard and prove himself at Monaco.
” It’s very early into the season and we hope to give all players games. For Henry he need to get to his best level physically and work really hard in training and in games. The season is long”, the coach said.
