Former goalkeeper and captain of the Super Eagles Vincent Enyeama has ruled out the possibility of returning back to the Super Eagles following reports that he is interested in playing for the senior national team of Nigeria again.
Enyeama retired from international football in 2015 after a row with former coach Sunday Oliseh and since then reports have linked him with a possible return to the team particularly due to the goalkeepers crisis that the team has endured since his departure.
The goalkeeper who is presently without a club insist he is not thinking about the Nigeria national team for now as he believe the current crop of goalkeepers are not doing badly.
He insist he is focused on getting his club career back on track and not thinking about the national team. Furthermore he defended Kaizer Chiefs shot stopper Daniel Akpeyi who has been heavily criticized in the media.
The comments were picked by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team during his interview on SuperSports Nigeria programme Naija Made: ” “I think our present crops of goalkeepers are doing well including Dani Akpeyi who has been heavily criticised. I don’t think I can still play for Nigeria again because I’m not physically up for it. Currently, I’m not with any club, what I’m looking for is a project where I can play and train.”
