The Nigeria U20 team got their campaign at the U20 World Youth Championship with a commanding 4-0 win over Qatar to go top of their group ahead of their remaining group games.
Captain Ikouwem Udoh got the Nigerians underway with a pin point cross tucked home by Effiom Maxwell in the 12th minute to give Nigeria the lead , before Henry Offia doubled the advantage for Nigeria with a smart finish in the 24th minute from another assist from the impressive Ikouwem.
Qatar started the second half a lot better but were once again on the back foot when Kingsley Michael showed his quality with a precise pass to Tom Dele-Bashiru who finished the move off with a side foot effort to put the game to bed in the 68th minute.
Substitute Jerome Akor made an instant impact with a headed pass from a corner kick which fell nicely to central defender Aliu Salawudeen to round up a comprehensive win for the Nigerians.
