The Golden Eaglet of Nigeria have qualified for the semi-final of the Africa U17 Cup of Nations after coming from a goal down to draw 1-1 against Uganda in their final group game.
Both teams cancelled out each other with chances to score falling both ways but none could find a breakthrough and they headed into the break tied at 0-0.
In the 63rd minute, Nigeria fail to deal with a corner kick and a lack of communication between goalkeeper Sunday Stephen and left back Ogaga Oduko presented a simple chance for John Alou to head into an empty net and give his team the lead.
Nigeria responded a minute later with Ibraheem Jabaar who was starting his first game of the tournament raced onto a well lofted pass from substitute Kunle Olusegun and he followed his perfect first touch with a calm finish.
The draw means Nigeria are through to the semi-final as group winners and also through to the World Youth Championship in Brazil later this year while Uganda crash out with Angola progressing to the semi-final courtesy of their 4-2 win over host Tanzania.
