Per reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team, coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr added three new players to his provisional squad for AFCON 2019.

Rohr has already drawn up his list and will make it public before the team commence camping for the tournament which starts in June and will be hosted by Egypt.

The trio of FC Midtjylland Frank Onyeka, Trabzonspor Anthony Nwakaeme and Club Brugge Dennis Bonaventure were included in the preliminary list of players put together by the coach of the team.

Onyeka is in line to be called up to the squad for the first time with doubts surrounding the availability of two midfielders in the team in Mikel Agu and Ogenyi Onazi who are both injured at the moment.

Like Onyeka, Dennis will be rewarded for his fine form in Belgium this season with a chance to stake for a spot in the squad for the AFCON although he will likely end up with the U23 where he played in both of their qualifiers against Libya.

Nwakaeme is making a return to the team after taking the Turkish League by storm this season following his transfer from Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the summer.
