Nigeria international midfielder Mikel Agu is in line for a move to French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille from Portuguese side FC Porto, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Agu was played on loan at Turkish side Bursaspor last season narrowly missed out on selection for the Nigerian team at the World Cup in Russia, and upon his return to Porto he made it clear that he wants to leave if he is not guaranteed regular playing time.
Last week he left the pre season camp of the Portuguese side and he is seriously courting interest from FC Porto, who are however keen on having him on loan next season with the option to sign him permanently next summer.
However Porto and the player are pinning for a deal that will involve a permanent move away from the club, meaning Marseille’s bid might be turned down unless if they accept to buy him permanently this summer.
