FC Porto Nigerian Contingent Decreases As Fidelis Kuku Returns To  Vizela After Loan Spell

Portuguese giants FC Porto have decided against an imminent deal for Nigerian youngster Fidelis Kuku who spent last season on loan at the club from second division side Vizela.

Kuku arrived at Vizela last season after impressing scouts of the club in a scouting event in Nigeria organised by Jos based Academy Gee-Lec Football Club ‎.

He immediately settled into his surrounding with strong performances for the youth team of the second divison side, a form which caught the attention of FC Porto, which led to his loan move to the club in January.

Despite impressing for the U18 of Porto, where he also scored a spectacular goal in the UEFA Youth League in their game againt Salzburg, the club decided against handing him a permanent deal.

His parent owners Vizela who were promoted to the second division in Portugal have promoted him to the first team and the left footed Kaduna born forward will likely be a part of their push for promotion to the top flight.

Following his departure, six Nigerians are now left at Porto with Chidozie Awaziem looking like the only player guarantee to be an integral part of the first team after Mikel Agu was sent home from their training camp.
