Belgium top division side Gent have refused a €3m bid from Czech Republic side Slavia Prague for Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka who spent last season on loan to Zulte-Waregem.
Olayinka finally showed glimpse of the potentials that made Gent splash close to €1m in signing him from Albanian side Skenderbreu Korce two years ago after a stunning season.
Injuries and fitness issues made him struggle to make an impression at the Belgium side but a move to Zulte-Waregem just before the start of last season has helped him regained his confidence.
He scored 11 goals and also picked up 13 assists, a form which put top clubs on alert about his availability but Gent are holding on to him for next season and Slavia Prague are the first to fail with a bid for him.
Aside planning to make him an integral part of their squad next season, Gent are also not open to letting him leave for a fee less than €10m as a certain percentage is due to his ex club Skenderbreu Korce if he moves.
