As the Super Eagles of Nigeria continue their preparations for the World Cup with players battling to be named in the final 23 man squad, coach of the team Gernot Rohr has given his opinion on two players in his provisional list.
Kano Pillars forward Junior Lokosa and Crotone of Italy ace Simy Nwankwo were the focus of the manager when discussing the chances of newly invited players making his final 23 man squad for the World Cup.
Rohr who revealed that the duo are in line to play against Congo in Monday’s friendly game against Congo rated the chances of Simy who ended the season with seven goals for relegated Serie A side Crotone as 50-50.
However he was non committal about chances of Lokosa making the squad as he summed up his statement on the NPFL top scorer chances with a line which suggest the forward should be grateful for the experience of training with the Super Eagles.

“Simy is 50-50 to go to the World Cup,” Rohr began, “but he and Junior [Lokosa] will play on Monday.
“They will get a chance to show us what they can do, and get a chance to go to the World Cup”, Rohr said at yesterday’s session with the media before going specific on the case of Lokosa – “Even if he does not go, he is training well with the team and the experience will help him in his club.”
