The Super Eagles had their final training session at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo ahead of their friendly clash against‎ Congo DR on Monday in Port Hacourt.

As usual Owngoalnigeria.com watched the session and here are our top five players in the session which lasted a little over an hour under the watchful eyes of coach Gernot Rohr.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Without a shade of doubt he is the best striker in the camp of the Super Eagles right now. Since the start of training the Leicester City man has scored in all of their training session and he crowned it up with a hattrick in today’s final session in preparation for the Congo DR friendly on Monday.

Simy Nwankwo

Showed his predatory instinct with a superb goal in his first training session with the team and since then he has improved in leaps and bounds with at least a goal to his name in every session bar that of today.

Although he failed to get among the goals, he however provided one of the goals which helped Iheanacho to a hattrick. Looks very good, lively, fit and determined to force his way into the World Cup plans of coach Gernot Rohr.

Odion Ighalo

A fighter anyday and above all a willing runner for his team. His use of body strength coupled with his abilities to bury chances out of nothing was evidently on display in the only goal that he scored in today’s session.

However, it’s clear to see that his teammates are very much at ease in playing through him and with his back to goal he appears to be the deadliest among the strikers in camp right now.

John Obi Mikel

As usual the calming influence in the midfield. His range of passes, movements, tackles and decision making were spot on in today’s session. Looked really fit and lively during the session.

Aside his experience he still remains one of the most technically gifted player in the team especially when it comes to carving open defences for the strikers ahead of him to do damage.

John Ogu

Slowly earning a reputation of a hard tackler and a sharp shooter. His height means he is very commanding in the midfield and he also used the ball well during today’s session. His mobility has also improved tremendously even though he is still not the quikest.
