The chances of Wolfsburg beating the drop to the German Bundesliga took a big hit after they were thrashed 1-3 at home by fellow relegation candidates Hamburg.
Hamburg are one spot below Wolfsburg who are 15th on the 18 team German Bundesliga table and their win took them to within two points of Wolfsburg, who are levelled on points Mainz 05 despite playing a game more.
Defeat against Hamburg, a game their fans expected them to win brought about a clash with their supporters and the players after the final whistle. The heated exchange was quelled by stewards at the ground.
Once again Nigerian teen forward Victor Osimhen was missing from the matchday squad of the team since the last time he played on the 13th of April in a 0-0 draw against Augsburg.

So far he has played in 12 Bundesliga games. A remarkable improvement from last season where he only featured twice but just like last season he is still searching for his first top flight goal since turning professional in December over a year ago.
