Nigeria representative in the CAF Champions League Plateau United got their campaign underway on a fantastic note with a convincing 3-0 win over Eding Sport Of Cameroon in the first leg of the qualifiers for the group stage of the tournament.
The Nigerians dominated the early exchanges but a lack of cutting edge upfront plus some fantastic goalkeeping from the goal tender of the visitors kept the Nigerian at bay.
Plateau United got rewarded for their early pressure when they were awarded a penalty after Eyenga Alain handled the ball in the box in his bid to deny the home side a shot at goal.
Tosin Omoyele took the spot kick but his effort was punched away by the goalkeeper of Eding Ndjomo Lionel, but his punch fell kindly to Elijah Oghene who tucked home the rebound to put the Nigeria champions ahead.
