Ahead of the final game of the African Nations Championship between Nigeria and host Morocco, coach of the Nigerian team Salisu Yusuf has revealed why Nigeria can be champions.

Nigeria have so far played below expectations but the team have perfected the act of ‎grinding out results in games where they have struggled, and they are now one step away from lifting the trophy.

Morocco, the team they are up against in the final of the championship have been the best team of the championship in the opinion of many, but Yusuf is confident that his wards have what it takes to beat the host in tomorrow’s final.

Although Nigeria are going to be without the service of key players in the final game, particularly goalkeeper and captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa, the coach who also confirmed that Emeka Atuloma is an injury doubt in the build up to the game remains confident.

“We know that they (Morocco) are high scoring side. The highest scoring side in the tournament , but as I said earlier , if we do the right thing by defending well, creating chances and converting the chances created into goals , we will definitely win against Morocco”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com

“Moreover, it is not that Morocco scored in every game. They drew against Sudan in a scoreless affair . I believe that the Super Eagles can beat the Atlas Lions of Morocco tomorrow”.
