Nigeria international defender Elderson Echiejile has joined second division Belgium side Cercle Brugge on loan for the rest of the season from Turkish side Sivasspor .

Last season the 30 year old left back had two loan spells with Standard Liege of Belgium and Sporting Gijon of Spain as a player of French Ligue 1 giants Monaco.

He left the principality outfit for Turkish side Sivasspor, but after six months at the club, he is once again on the move. This time around to Belgium second division promotion hopefuls Cercle Brugge.

Echiejile struggled to get game time at Sivasspor as he only made seven appearances for the Turkish side in the first stanza of the league, and with the World Cup looming he need games to stay in contention to make the Nigerian team to the World Cup.

Although it remains to be seen if a move to a second division side will help his cause to make the Nigerian team as Nigeria presently boast of left full backs playing top level football elsewhere.

Chelsea defender Ola Aina who is on loan to Hull City and Amkar Perm Brian Idowu are the other options available to coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr.
