Super Eagles of Nigeria ended their World Cup 2018 Qualifiers on a sound note drawing 1-1 against Algeria to bring a successful World Cup 2018 Qualifiers to an end without losing any game.

The first half ended goalless with very few chances for both team, with the vital touch in the box missing from both teams as well as weak shot when their forwards are in promising positions.

Nigeria started the half the better side, but they could easily have fallen behind around the half hour mark when goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa fumbled a routine catch, but Yacine Brahaimi failed to keep his header down.

That miss haunted the Algerians later on as John Ogu latched onto a poor clearance out of the box of Algeria, before curling home a sweet left foot shot from over 25 yards for the opening goal of the game.

Super Eagles hang on to the 1-0 lead until the 86th minute when a controversial penalty was awarded to the host for a foul in the box, which left the whole stadium stunned including Brahaimi who was adjudged to have been fouled.

Brahaimi converted the resultant spot kick to draw Algeria level. A score that stayed same until the final whistle was sounded.
