The Super Eagles of Nigeria moved a step ‎closer to qualifying for the World Cup 2018 World Cup in Russia with a comprehensive 4-0 thrashing of Cameroon.

Odion Ighalo started the rout in the 29th minute when he raced through to meet a well weighted pass from captain John Obi Mikel and brilliantly held off his marker before releasing a left footed grounded to open scoring.

Mikel slotted home the second for Nigeria when he toe poked a corner kick from Moses to increase Nigeria lead three minutes before the half time break.

The Eagles went into the break conveniently leading 2- 0, and they wasted no time in making it 3-0 after the break when Moses profited from a counter attack to drill home a low finish off a tee off by Moses Simon.
