Captain of the senior national team of Nigeria John Obi Mikel will be among the first group of players to hit the camp of the Super Eagles in Uyo, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
China based Mikel who is staging a comeback to the team after missing the 0-2 loss to South Africa in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers, and he is expected in Nigeria on Sunday evening.
Already Odion Ighalo who also plays in China for Chanchung Yatai is in camp as they are no Chinese Super Lig games this weekend, Mikel will however arrive Nigeria today but flight issues means he will arrive Uyo on Monday.
The captain who plays for Chinese side Tiajin Teda in an interview this month revealed he is under pressure to ensure Nigeria qualify for the World Cup 2018 in Russia as his in-laws won’t forgive him, if Nigeria fail to make it.
