On loan Manchester City forward Olarewaju Kayode almost marked his debut with a goal for his loan side Girona in their dramatic 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid in a La-Liga game decided last night.
Kayode was introduced as a substitute in the game which Girona lead 2-0 until the final ten minutes of the game, although Kayode almost helped them to a shock win in what was their first ever game in the La-Liga.
Three minutes into the four minutes of time added on Kayode came close to scoring with a low reactionary header but a marvellous reflex save from Athletico Madrid highly respected shot stopper Oblak denied him.
Oblak moved quickly to deflect Kayode’s headed effort off a cross with his legs with what was virtually the last kick of the game which frustrated Kayode from marking a debut with what would have been the winning goal for Girona.
