Coach of French Ligue 1 side Nantes Claudio Ranieri has revealed part of the reasons why the club signed Nigeria interna‎tional defender Chidozie Awaziem on loan from Portuguese side FC Porto.

Speaking at the official unveiling of the 20 year old defender, the coach who helped English Premier League side Leicester win the league against all odds, also spoke on the quality of Awaziem.

” We believe he will give up options in defence that is why we signed him, and we are glad to have him with us. He will be a very good player in the nearest future, we are hoping to play our part in his development. “, Ranieri said.

” He (Awaziem) is a good smart player, I know he will help me and also the team when the league begins”.
