Coach of the B team of the Nigeria senior national team Salisu Yusuf has handed the captain armband to FC Ifeanyi Uba shot stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa ahead of their CHAN Qualifiers game.
The coach handed the band to the 28 year old after this morning training session, and also named Enyimba FC of Aba left back Chima Akas as his deputy.
They are among the most experienced in the team as they both played at the last CHAN Championship which was held in Rwanda, where Nigeria failed to progress from the group stage of the tournament..
Ezenwa who is strongly in contention to start for the main team against Cameroon in next month World Cup 2018 Qualifiers is presently the third choice goalkeeper of the main team, but the goalkeeper crisis has opened the door for him to be considered by the coach.

Akas on his part played for the Super Eagles od Nigeria under former coach Sunday Oliseh, but failed to make himself a permanent option in the team, and even at Enyimba he has lost his spot.
