Arsenal German defender Shkodran Mustafi has hailed the contribution of Arsenal Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi in their 3-0 win over Sunderland in the English Premier League.
Iwobi was introduced in the 69th minutes, and according to Mustafi he brought about urgency in the play of Sunderland which unsettled their defence for Alexis Sanchez who got both goals for Arsenal to strike.
” Some of us have obviously played lot of games and it was telling as the game progressed. Iwobi’s introduction helped us move the ball quicker and you can tell it helped us in getting the goal”, Mustafi said.
“It wasn’t easy, even though Sunderland knew they were already going down but you have to play those games. It isn’t easy when you play every three days, you get tired as well. We had a lot of opportunities and we made it a bit harder than it was, but we got the important three points [in the end].”
