The victory of Ahmad Ahmad over Issa Hayatou at the recently concluded CAF elections will no doubt make the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr far happy than most Nigerians.
Ahmad ended Hayatou’s 29 year reign as CAF president by polling 34 votes as against the 20 votes Hayatou got at the elections which was held in Addis Ababa yesterday.
While most Nigerians have expressed their happiness over the victory of Ahmad Ahmad at the CAF pools, Rohr will be particularly happy for the new CAF President as they share one thing in common.
The wife of the Franco-German coach of the Super Eagles is from Madagascar, same country as the new CAF president, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
