Super Eagles number one shot stopper Carl Ikeme helped his team Wolverhampton Wanderers pick up their second consecutive win in the Championship starring in their 3-2 win over Bristol City.
Despite conceding twice, once from Anglo Nigerian forward Tammy Abraham, the Wolves shot stopper was big when he needed to be for his team, and can largely be excused for the goals his team conceded.
There was drama in the game in the 90th minute when what looked like a legitimate goal by Bristol City wasn’t awarded by the referee, despite the ball clearly crossing the line.
If the goal has stood, it would have ended 3-3 but no thanks to the lack of goal line technology in the Championship, the goal which video replays clearly showed cross the line wasn’t given.

Aside the controversial moment, Ikeme the 30 year old Wolves shot stopper is close to agreeing a new deal with the Molineux outfit with his current deal set to run out next summer.
Ikeme, who came through the academy at Wolves and has established himself as the club’s number one keeper in the past four seasons, has publicly stated he is keen to sign a new deal.
And Thelwell said positive discussions had taken place as recently as this week.
“We’re not quite there yet but we’ve had really good discussions,” he said.
“Things are progressing well and we’d be hopeful of securing him for the future.
“We’re not there yet but discussions are ongoing.”
Wolves went into the season with three senior players – Ikeme, David Edwards and skipper Danny Batth – all in the last year of their contracts.
