Former Kaduna United and Nigeria U-17 left foot dazzler Femi Balogun has emerged as one of the key players for promotion chasing Portuguese second division side Desportivo Aves.

Balogun joined the team from relegated side Farense in the summer as a free agent, and so far he has been pivotal to their push to gain promotion to the top league in Portugal.

CD Aves are currently second on the log standing, four points behind leaders Portimonense after 19 games, and Balogun has played in all but three of their games this season.

Although he is still searching for his first goal, the former Athletico Baleares star has been among the livewire of the team in attack, picking up three assist so far including one in their last weekend 3-1 win over Penafiel.
