Al Ahly Shendi Nigerian forward Kelechi Osunwa has set a new goal scoring record in the Sudanese Premiere League with six matches to go.

Osunwa is on 33 goals, a tally which includes 4 hattricks, 5 brace in addition to five man of the match award. He is now the all time scorer in the league with 158 goals since moving to the country in 2011 from Dolphins of Porthacourt.

His goals tally includes 54 with Al-Hilal, 62 with Al-Merikh aside his present goal count of 33 and still counting with Al-Ahly Shendy in the Sudanese Premier League.

The 31 year old joined Al-Hilal of Sudan, when he first arrived in the country before leaving the club six years later in a controversial big money move to fierce rivals Al-Merreikh.

He had a short six months stint in Thailand with BEC Tero Sasana before joining Ismaily in the Egyptian Premier League.

In 2001, Osunwa came to prominence when he finished as top scorer in the Nigeria second division to lead Dolphins (Rivers United) to promotion, a feat which earned him a call up to the Nigeria U-17 team for the Africa Youth Championship in Seychelles.

At the Championship he finished as top scorer as Nigerian romp to her first ever Under-17 Africa title but he was controversially omitted from the team that went to the World Youth Championship in Trinidad and Tobago.
