Emmanuel Emenike opened his goal account in the Turkish League this season with a goal on the stroke of half time in Fenerbahce 5-1 win over Kasimpasa, in a League game decided on Monday night.

Back at Fenerbahce after two loan spells last season to Al-Ain of Qatar and later West Ham in England, started for the first time under new coach Dick Advocaat who has in the past games preferred Musa Sow to the 29 year old Nigerian.

The goal is his first goal in Turkish football since the 14th of February 2015 when he scored in Fenerbahce 5-0 away win over Gaziantepspor.

He wasn’t the only Nigerian who played in the Monday night game in Turkey, with Nigerian-Hungarian defender Kenneth Otigba on from start to finish for Kasimpasa but was helpless in defence as they slumped to a 1-5 loss at home.
