Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has axed the duo of Imoh Ezekiel and Chidozie Awaziem from his list of invited players for Nigeria’s first Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers tie against Zambia.
FC Porto Awaziem and Al Saad of Qatar Ezekiel were both left out of the match day squad for Nigeria’s last game last weekend against Tanzania, a dead rubber AFCON 2017 qualifiers tie which Nigeria won 1-0 in Uyo.
We gathered the duo have also been left out of the squad for the Zambia game, while same source revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com that Arsenal teen star Alex Iwobi and Nigeria Rio 2016 poster boy Ogenekaro Etebo will be included in the team.
Nigeria will play Zambia on the 9th of October in her first World Cup qualifiers for Russia 2018. Rohr will reportedly release the list of players called up for the game next week.
” For now Imoh Ezekiel is not in the list, same as Chidozie Awaziem but I can confirm to you that the duo of Etebo and Iwobi are sure to make the list for the Zambia tie. That is a no brainer” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
