A close source to Paul Le Guen, the favourite to land the Super Eagles job has revealed that the French man sensationally turned down the chance to take over Belgian side Anderlecht in preference for the Super Eagles job.

Speaking through an interpreter, the french based journalist revealed the coach is fascinated by the prospect of handling Nigeria and considers it as a once in a life time experience he can’t let slip.

“Before Rene Weiler was appointed coach of Anderlecht, Le Guen was offered the chance to manage Anderlecht but it came at a time when he has made up his mind to coach Nigeria after meeting with contacts of the Nigeria Football Federation” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Unless something unusual happens he will most certainly take over as coach of Nigeria and he is very very excited about it, as a matter of fact he views it as a once in a lifetime opportunity to land his dream job”.

On reasons why Le Guen didn’t achieve anything meaningful in his last job as manager of Oman, the writer with one of France respected online publication revealed his job with the oil rich region wasn’t about success on the pitch but more of clearing the way and providing a blueprint for future success in a country devoid of talented players unlike Nigeria.
