A member of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com that Paul Le Guen who is the committee’s preferred choice as manager of the Super Eagles has been offered a salary of around $44,000 a month to handle the Nigeria senior national team.

The said amount is twice what was paid to the last Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh and his predecessor Stephen Keshi with both coaches earning $21,000 a month as salary.

The former Cameroun manager is now the hot favourite to land the vacant manager job of the Super Eagles of Nigeria brushing aside Serbian Goran Stefanovic who reportedly who have earned less if he was given the job.

However a member of the body that made the proposal to the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity that the paying of expatriate coaches more than their indigenous counterparts is a global practice.

“Le Guen is not an indigenous coach and it’s only normal that expatriates earn more, it’s a common practice, for instance Roy Hodgson until his resignation yesterday wasn’t earning what Fabio Capello earned as coach of England” He told Owngoalnigeria.com
