Nigeria U-23s defender Godswill Elohor Ekpolo has expressed his delight after meeting former Barcelona player Emmanuel Amuneke in Abuja.
Godswill who is not in Nigeria’s 35 man provisional list for the Olympic came on as a substitute for the Nigeria U-23s who were beaten 4-2 in a friendly game by the U-20s handled by Amuneke who once played for Barcelona.
An excited Godswill posted pictures of himself and Amuneke whose career with Barcelona ended after a serious knee injury leaving him with just a total of just 19 overal appearances but only three in the league in the three years he spent with the Catalans.
His message of happiness was contained in his post by the picture on twitter that reads ” Very happy to see Amuneke, the former Barcelona and now the coach of U-20 of Nigeria, Wonderful coach”.
Owngoalnigeria.com tried to confirm if he will travel with the team to the US where they will be camped ahead of their campaign at the Olympics but none of the officials of the team was willing to comment on his possible inclusion.
