The club career of Kelechi Iheanacho at Manchester City and Alex Iwobi of Arsenal will be seriously hampered if the duo represent Nigeria at the Rio Olympics.

Rio 2016 Olympic football event usually start two days before the opening ceremony in August and will end on the 20th and by then the English Premiership season would have began meaning the duo will most likely miss the start of the season.

Iheanacho might be the worst hit as Manchester City will by then have a new coach in Pep Guardiola who will want to have the full compliment of his players to inculcate his style of play into the team before the start of the season.

On his part Iwobi who is highly rated between within the Arsenal technical staff will face similar problems which might further hamper his chances of keeping his spot as a first team player.
