Nigeria national team midfielder Ifeanyi Matthew is reportedly close to joining Westerlo according to reports gathered by owngoalnigeria.com.
Representative of the Belgium top flight team reportedly met with his agent who is favourably disposed to the idea of the El-Kanemi Warriors man move to Westerlo.
However Westerlo are not the only team chasing the 19 year old as his fine performance at the Africa Nations Championship also endeared him to two unnamed teams in Belgium.
Managed by Mohammed Adam he was the one positive from the Nigeria team that failed to live up to public expectation by crashing out of the group phase of CHAN 2016 after losing 1-0 to Guinea.
